Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 28, 2026

Kodecast ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by Typeech.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, subscribe to our service, or request support. This includes:

  • Name and contact information (email address).
  • Billing information (processed securely by our payment processor, Stripe).
  • Account credentials (usernames and passwords).

1.2 Audio Data and Transcriptions

Your Voice is Your Data

We do NOT use your audio recordings or transcriptions to train our general AI models without your explicit consent.

When you use the Service to transcribe audio:

  • Processing: Audio data is transmitted securely (via TLS encryption) to our processing servers or processed locally on your device, depending on your settings.
  • Retention: Audio files are strictly ephemeral. They are processed in memory and immediately deleted after the transcription text is generated. We do not store your audio recordings on our servers.
  • Transcriptions: Generated text is sent back to your device. We may log basic metadata (duration, timestamp, language) for usage billing purposes, but we do not store the content of your transcriptions unless you enable specific "History Sync" features.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services.
  • Process transactions and manage your subscription.
  • Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages.
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Service.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties except as follows:

  • Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf (e.g., payment processing, cloud hosting).
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with any applicable law, regulation, or legal process.

4. Data Security

We use appropriate security measures to protect the security of your personal information both online and offline. These measures include using encryption for all data transmission and secure, access-controlled data centers.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You can manage most of your data directly within your account settings. For other requests, please contact us.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases, provide you with additional notice.
